The Position of Clerics and Worshippers Regarding the Liberation of the Holy of Holies

A Critical Analytical Reading

Al-Aqsa Mosque the "Holy of Holies" represents a unifying and sacred symbol for all humanity and all peoples. It is the second house established on earth after the Kaaba, and its history is bound to the calls of the prophets and messengers. However, this central status occupied by this site within divine faiths and laws is met with a astonishing paradox: the absolute silence and disgraceful inaction on the part of clerics and religious institutions worldwide. We have seen no serious movement, nor self-sacrifice beneath its walls, from those who fill the world with their speeches about women and how many a man is permitted to marry, being overly strict in the most minor branches of theology while remaining silent about the core of all fundamentals: Jihad in the cause of God to liberate the holy sites! This sharp paradox reveals an abyss between claim and truthfulness, between word and deed, when these elites are put to the test of great trials.

This House was a direction of prayer "Qibla" for messengers, worshippers, and believers, and praying within it holds immense status; indeed, the prayer of one who does not pray in it is deficient, and the pilgrimage "Hajj" of one who intends to perform it without visiting it is incomplete. Among the accounts handed down is that of a man who came to Ali ibn Abi Talib in the Mosque of Kufa and informed him of his intention to visit Al-Aqsa Mosque. Ali said to him: "Sell your riding mount, consume your provisions, and pray in this mosque, for the prescribed prayer in it is an accepted pilgrimage, and the supererogatory prayer is an accepted lesser pilgrimage." And when the Prophet Muhammad was taken on the Night Journey to Jerusalem, the niches of the prophets and their signs were presented to him, and he prayed therein.

Since it is the holiest of holy sites, and an integral part of faith in Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and all other divine religions, the question arises: What is the stance of the world's clerics regarding this issue the issue of the Holy of Holies?

The answer, in actual reality, is: Nothing... absolutely nothing!

We have not seen a single religious person or cleric whether imams, sheikhs, Quran memorizers, or devout worshippers speak even a single word! Nor have we heard of a scholar or sheikh who strove himself to protect Al-Quds and died as a martyr at its walls! Those who represent religion and hold rigid positions in their doctrine, such as Salafism for instance, we have not heard of a single one among them who spoke on this matter or fell as a martyr in the arena of the Holy of Holies. What is the matter with the Salafis, who show extreme strictness in secondary matters, ordering women to cover their eyes, restricting them in every major and minor detail, and declaring television and driving cars forbidden? Why have we not heard of their martyrdom at Al-Quds, while they claim to be the people of religion and the Saved Sect, adhering to the path of Muhammad and his companions? The Prophet's companions used to fall as martyrs at this House and die around its walls; why then have these people, who view themselves as being on the Straight Path, not died there? Why have we not heard of a single man among them being martyred at its gates?

Nor have we heard among imams, priests, or monks anyone speaking on this matter, or seeking martyrdom at this sacred place belonging to the Lord of the Worlds, where sacrifice there constitutes a mandatory martyrdom. Why have we not heard of any cleric obtaining martyrdom or choosing to be martyred there?

Here, the position of the clerics manifests in all its boldness if one may say so as pure hypocrisy, whether from the Vatican, the Jewish rabbis, Christians, or Muslim imams. All of them claim to worship the God in heaven, and God has His holy sites, of which this is the most important; why then do they not defend them?!

Even if we set Mecca aside, this is the Holy of Holies, and they know its true value full well. If someone came to demolish a Hindu temple, the God-worshipping believer would reject it, because Hindus link their temple to heaven, and the Creator prohibited the demolition of hermitages and places of worship in which His name is commemorated, for the intention of their adherents is to draw near to God. Thus, any holy place on the face of the earth is forbidden to be approached with malice or subject to attempts at demolition. If they wanted to destroy a church, he would object, because it represents a sacred symbol; so how much more so for the Holy of Holies, which is the greatest of all sacred sites?! "And were it not that God checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of God is much mentioned."

Why have those residing in churches and temples remained silent, while knowing the status of holy sites before their Lord? And why have clerics in the East and West of the earth even in China not moved against what is taking place in Al-Quds of killing, plundering, defilement, desecration, and systematic attempts at destruction?

The comprehensive idea that emerges from all of this is that these clerics are hypocrites; had they been upon the truth, they would have defended the sanctity of the holy places and would not have hesitated for a moment to support this Ancient House.

What is the position of devout worshippers and spiritual people regarding the defense of the houses of God?

The character of worship and spirituality requires a penetrating insight that comprehends the value of God's houses and their sanctity, regardless of the religion or devotional path. Yet the painful reality has demonstrated a clear absence of the heirs of this spiritual thought when it comes to supporting holy sites or defending them, whether they are among those who pray, meditate, or belong to various sects and religions. These individuals have avoided taking any explicit stance or offering their lives to protect what they consider to be houses of God, rendering their spiritual practices confined to theoretical frameworks, devoid of any notable impact on the ground.

Why have they not defended this place, which bears a direct and close connection to the God they worship?

When a devout worshipper who has dedicated himself to the worship of God in a spiritual manner, whatever his path may be is told that a temple will be demolished, the title of "worshipper" implies that he is a believer. Faith grants him the insight to realize the connection between these places and the God in heaven, which ought to instill in him a clear, firm stance without hesitation or compromise.

Why have these worshippers not gone out in demonstrations? Why have they not spoken a word of truth out loud?

Here, you are not talking about the general public, nor about those with humanitarian inclinations; humanitarians went out driven by their humanity in defense of innocent children and in rejection of one state's aggression against another a worthy humanitarian path credited to them. Likewise, we are not speaking about doctors, nor about legal professionals and international justice, as those are fields with their own specific contexts.

Rather, the address here is directed to the core of religiosity and spiritual warmth, because Al-Aqsa Mosque is a religious symbol epitomizing the concept of "God's houses" in its highest sense. If these worshippers and spiritual individuals have failed this symbol, where then is the essence of their religiosity? Where is the reality of their faith?

You have not seen a single worshipper step forward to say: "We will protect the house of God and die for it," despite their absolute knowledge that these are houses in which He has permitted His name to be remembered, whether a mosque, a church, or a temple. Any house in which God is worshipped is forbidden to be desecrated or harmed by divine decree a settled ruling across all sacred laws.

Nevertheless, you have not heard of a single worshipper whether among those who pray the five daily prayers in mosques, spiritual meditators, practitioners of spiritual energy, or among Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, or even African tribes who use idols or nature as a means of worship you have not heard of one who chose martyrdom beneath the walls of this House in defense of God's holy sites, despite their full awareness of the standing of holy sites before Him, and their certainty that defending them is among the most binding duties.

They all maintained an absolute silence and did not lift a finger; thus the clear truth stood revealed, and the veil was lifted from their faces: these claimants to worship and spirituality have failed the test of truthfulness. Their inaction proved that their religiosity did not pass beyond their throats, that their faith did not reach their hearts, and that in reality they are hypocrites.

As for the position of the general public and Arab youth regarding holy sites and the path of migration:

The mosque the "Holy of Holies" is situated at the heart of their Arab region, close to them, forming an authentic pillar of their faith and religious rites that mandate its preservation and protection, following the example of the righteous predecessors before them. The Prophet Muhammad and the Rightly Guided Caliphs, such as Umar ibn al-Khattab, despite their proximity to the beginnings of Islam, made the liberation of this House an obligation and an individual duty, as it is among the holiest and greatest symbols before God.

It is a glaring paradox that appears clearly among segments of general society: many young people face pressing economic and social conditions that drive them to risk migration aboard death boats heading toward Europe, accepting the possibilities of drowning or being killed in pursuit of a new reality. Conversely, this pattern of risk and sacrifice disappears entirely when it comes to heading toward the Holy of Holies or aiding it. This clearly reveals the orientation of intentions toward individual salvation and fleeting worldly pleasures at the expense of sacrificing for major causes and noble goals to protect the houses of God.

But have you ever heard of a single hidden migration boat that set sail toward the Holy of Holies, whose passengers said: "We will sail toward Al-Quds; if the boat capsizes or the occupier shoots us and we die at sea, no matter, for our intention is to reach the holiest place on earth, the house of God"?

The fundamental difference here lies strictly in "intention": he who dies on his way to Europe intended to seek the world and its adornments, whereas he who dies for the holy sites intends to please God, seek the Hereafter, and attain martyrdom. This clearly reflects the absence of the intention for the Hereafter among them, and their preference for the lesser enjoyment over the higher, and the vanishing world over the abiding Hereafter. In this regard, it becomes clear that hypocrisy has also seeped like deadly poison into the general public, becoming a universal phenomenon of detachment from Al-Quds and abandoning the responsibility of defending God's sanctities.

Forget about resounding media initiatives like "Resilience Convoys" that move under camera lenses and studio lights; the discussion here concerns those who leave secretly in dilapidated death boats under the cover of darkness. Why do they not leave in the same manner, with the same secrecy, heading toward Al-Quds, accepting death for its sake just as they accept it for the sake of Europe?

Such is the reality of intentions among the general public in the Arab world, and such is the scale of truthfulness by which hearts are weighed: hundreds of thousands poured out on migration journeys toward Europe, yet you have not heard of ten, nor even a single individual, who took to the sea with the intention of heading to Al-Quds and was martyred in its waters. Tens, hundreds, even thousands died by drowning for the sake of Europe, but not one died at sea for the sake of Al-Quds! These are bitter facts and bare intentions that ought to be written down clearly, recorded by the pens of history, and witnessed by generations.

Within the reality of Arab societies, a closed life cycle emerges, resembling an endless vicious circle; everything that occupies their lives and dominates their gatherings is confined to a single repeating question: When will they marry? When will they reproduce?

And what is marriage in the concept of the general public? It is reduced merely to the "marriage contract"! Even the Scripture used this term to illustrate their reality and state, saying: "And do not resolve on the tie of marriage until the written law reaches its term," and saying: "Or he in whose hand is the marriage tie waives it." They await the appointed time and the stage at which they reach this contract, as though it were the ultimate goal and the end of all hope.

They conclude a contract providing for marriage and its regulation, wherein the man provides the woman a few paltry coins, and she becomes available to him for life merely by fulfilling this financial condition and providing that tiny pittance of money! Perhaps the tragicomic paradox here is that what he spends on her over a lifetime may not equal what is spent in a single night with a prostitute in places of debauchery and temptation! Then you see her afterward as the one who spends on the house and children, bearing heavy burdens, while remaining under his control and command for life; if she refuses or abstains, she is cast into distress, threatened, and cursed by angels, as if she were a possession rather than a partner, an enslaved person rather than an honored one!

After this mating and joining, reproduction occurs, yielding an entire generation that soon flees aboard death boats either to die by drowning in the depths of the sea, or to arrive and live as homeless refugees in Europe, caught between rejection and welcome, dignity and humiliation.

This is the true and painful cycle: they mate, they give birth, and then their offspring flee and withdraw from their reality.

These common people flee with intentions directed toward the world, preferring to die for its sake while avoiding death for the sake of the Holy of Holies!

,;, They accept drowning in the seas of the world, while evading martyrdom in the arenas of Al-Quds. They bear the hardships of migration, while failing to support the Aqsa House. ,;,

This alone suffices to demonstrate the true nature of their intentions, exposing their innermost secrets and revealing their detachment from their faith and disconnection from their cause.

And if you look at the countries that stand at the forefront in the name of religion, claiming strictness in it and adherence to its literal text, Al-Quds ought to have represented for them an untouchable red line and sacred boundaries that must not be violated. However, examining the reality of these countries such as Iran, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan uncovers the falsehood of those resounding slogans and exposes those claims when put to an actual test. Iran, despite raising the slogan of the "Islamic Republic" and displaying outward religious strictness, contents itself with neutral stances and rhetorical speeches, without uttering a word or offering a real field sacrifice to protect the Holy of Holies or defend its sanctities.

As for Yemen, its people are supposed to possess wisdom, faith, and the capacity for endurance; yet a large portion of them falls under the influence of Khat, which consumes their energies in sedation and passivity, wasting their time in a deep stupor. No industry is built, no trade is developed, and no seeds of revival are planted to provide equipment and preparation to support the holy sites. The claims to religion among its authority have been reduced to local authoritarianism, restricting women, and suppressing dissidents, with no memorable trace in protecting Al-Aqsa or supporting Al-Quds.

As for Saudi Arabia, its actual policy moves toward paths of normalization and establishing suspicious relationships under the table, utilizing vast wealth and the funds of pilgrimage (Hajj) rites to serve Western powers of influence that supply the occupier with weapons and gear to kill innocents thus completing the path of abandoning the Holy of Holies and selling its cause, as when their ancestor wrote the document of renunciation with the British, forgetting its historical and religious responsibility toward this Ancient House.

Or Afghanistan, whose authority raises the banner of strictness, imposing oppression and submission on society while its reality sinks into opium cultivation, trade, and addiction, becoming a fertile ground for organized crime and the drain of human potential. Instead of utilizing energy in industry and development, and directing weapons to support Jerusalem, rifles and machine guns are pointed inward toward tightening the grip on women, making them available to them at all times, keeping them under the cloak, deprived of education and work, stripped of will and rights. This is in addition to the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children, blatant moral violations, temporary marriage (Nikah al-Mut'ah), the practice of incest, and the transgression of pederasty against young boys, within a crumbling and collapsing reality that lacks the spirit of religion and chivalry, devoid of any honor or manhood.

The decisive conclusion:

Have you ever heard of an Iranian, a Yemeni, a Saudi, an Afghan, or a Chechen among those who claim to protect religion and lead its banners choosing to advance toward the walls of Jerusalem and die before them as a martyr? Holy sites are not protected by fake strictness, nor are sanctities preserved by empty claims! The facts completely deny this, and history has not recorded a single stance from them on this chapter.

The truth shone brightly, and the curtains were completely drawn back when you see how efforts are expended, rifles are directed, and resources are harnessed. These ignorant and psychologically ill individuals who raise the banners of strictness are found busying themselves with committing abominations in their homelands, oppressing and despising women, and making the guarding and monitoring of women upon entry and exit a top priority for which resources and weapons are harnessed, instead of guarding the Holy of Holies, protecting its sanctities, and taking the initiative to aid it.

Resources are harnessed to protect opium cultivation and the Khat trade, and efforts are dedicated to guarding deviant practices and other evils, while Hajj and Umrah funds are collected and pumped into the veins of those who support the occupier and aid the enemy. They are peoples and factions who view themselves as the most religious and the most steadfast, imposing their perception of religion by the force of bullets; yet not a single bullet from these guns has been fired to support the Holy of Holies or defend the sanctuary of the Night Journey!

The "Holy of Holies" has become the benchmark and exact scale that exposed the falsehood of these claims, unmasked the truth of everyone, and stripped away their masks one after another:

It exposed the truth of the pretenders and the Salafis, who reduced religion to husks and restricting societies, then disappeared from the major arenas of sacrifice and lagged behind the fields of honor and redemption.

It exposed the truth of regimes and states that traded in slogans and policies under the cover of religion, exploiting its name to reach power, then abandoning the most binding duties at the very first test.

It exposed the truth of Muslims across continents: you have not heard of a single individual among the Muslims of Asia, Indonesia, new converts in Europe, China, North African countries, or the Arab Gulf among those who claim a connection to God or affiliation to His law who went out and attained martyrdom at the walls of this Holy House, or gave his life to liberate it.

The issue of the Holy of Holies, with all defiance and truthfulness, dropped the masks off the pretenders to religiosity, the devout worshippers, the clerics, and all extremists. It proved with decisive evidence and an upright witness that they all failed the test of truthfulness, and that their alleged religiosity was nothing but hypocrisy and hollow appearances, bearing no weight in real confrontation and no value in the fields of heroism and sacrifice.

The facts exposed what was hidden and raised many questions:

Have you ever heard of a single ship setting sail from Chechnya, Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, or elsewhere, carrying armed men bound for the Holy of Holies, where their ship was bombed on the open sea, or their vehicles overturned, or they penetrated borders and its passengers fell dead on their way to liberation?

The decisive answer and the bitter truth: No one has ever done it, and history has never recorded it.

Some may attribute this disgraceful inaction to the presence of strict borders, impenetrable fortifications, and formidable military surveillance. But this flimsy argument collapses before the evidence of history and crumbles before the stances of the righteous predecessors: in times past, there were fierce wars, and the frontiers were fortified with guards, soldiers, and armies. Despite this, the early Muslims stormed those impenetrable fortresses, surpassed those stubborn obstacles, and paid no mind to terrors nor feared death in the cause of God. What then is the matter with these people today, when paths have become easy and resources available, yet they lag behind the call to arms, shirk their duty, and leave the Holy of Holies as prey?

Ancient fortresses were built of solid stone, surrounded by deep moats, and their defenders poured boiling oil and burning pitch from their walls onto the heads of the attackers. Even so, the truthful conquerors pelted them with catapults, stormed their walls, broke through frontier fortifications, and engaged border guards in fierce battles until they conquered lands and liberated holy sites.

Compare those impenetrable historical fortresses which formed a real physical barrier with wire fences, steel walls, or modern checkpoints, to realize that fortifications were never an obstacle before the will to liberate, nor a barrier against the resolve of believers when intentions are sincere and hearts are pure. Death in the cause of God is not turned back by walls, and Jihad along His path is not stopped by borders. What then has changed today? Why has no such storming occurred at the frontiers of the Holy of Holies?

The reason is clear, direct, and as revealing as sunlight: because the pretenders today have failed the test of truthfulness. That was the mark of their criterion, and the Holy of Holies became the revealing benchmark of what lies behind the curtain, and the hand that lifted the mask from faces to reveal the bare truth: that all of these people, with their strict attire and alleged religiosity, were hypocrites who faltered at the first test and shrank back at the first call.

This same hypocrisy was reflected in the reality of women and men:

Look at the reality of women and men in Arab societies how their options and aspirations are confined to narrow social frameworks, lacking major goals and noble values.

A woman concludes a marriage contract through which her body is rendered accessible and her independence confiscated for a lifetime in exchange for a paltry dower that may not equal the price of a shoe. She remains subject to the man's authority, household burdens, and heavy responsibilities, without realizing that she has surrendered her life to a contract bearing no relation to a marriage built on partnership, affection, and mercy. Thus she wastes her energies in a relationship consisting entirely of mating and reproduction. Why does she choose to freeze her energies and make her body available within this narrow framework, instead of dedicating her life to a noble cause, or stepping forth as a fighter and combatant as women used to do in ancient times leaving behind false relationships and ties to be martyred on the battlefields in defense of Jerusalem?

She prefers to remain under the weight of that endless physical relationship, using the excuse of caring for children and spending on them, while warning her partner against stepping forth and sacrificing. But the painful truth and glaring contradiction lie in the fact that these children, when they grow up, flee from the mother, the family, and the homeland, preferring death in the open sea over remaining with her, only to live in foreign dependence and serving desires, leaving behind all the flimsy excuses their mothers claimed!

Likewise, the man in these societies binds himself with the marriage contract and uses various pretexts and arguments to shirk stepping forth and performing Jihad for the sake of the Holy of Holies. He clings to family, work, money, and circumstances, treating them as insurmountable obstacles. Yet you find him accepting to ride death boats and arranging enormous sums of money estimated at hundreds of millions, despite his success rate not exceeding one percent, to brave the sea toward disbelief (Kufr). And when the boat capsizes and he pronounces the two testimonies of faith while drowning just as Pharaoh did in the era of Moses when he drowned in the sea he rationalizes it as fleeing from poverty, oppression, and injustice!

Why does he not say it while riding the sea heading toward the Holy of Holies? Why did he not say: "I fled from evil, immorality, and social constraints, and went to die for the sake of the Holy of Holies instead of living in that reality"? Whether he reached his goal or was killed short of it, his intention is the dividing line between martyrdom and drowning, and between elevation and humiliation.

This despicable utilitarianism collides with a great historical paradox: in early Islam, a groom would leave his bride on his first wedding night when the call sounded, "O horses of God, ride!" He would go out to Jihad and fall as a martyr in battle before tasting the joy of the wedding! And a woman, if she found within herself the capacity and resolve, would veil her face, mount a horse, and enter battles to protect truth and defend faith, unbound by false pretexts or deterred by weak ties.

As for today, the marriage contract has become a shackle justifying the evasion of duties, and an excuse behind which those who shirk Jihad to liberate the Holy of Holies conceal themselves. Just as the woman uses the contract and home as an excuse, the man cites family, work, and money, blaming the oppression of rulers and the authorities' prohibition against supporting the holy sites. Yet they bypass those very same authorities and penetrate formidable barriers in secret when the destination is European shores! Where then is truthfulness? Where is consistency? Where is the balance?

Conversely, within the reality of the occupation entity, you see a contrasting model that exposes this inaction: the Jewish woman engages in battlefields, drives tanks and aircraft, and advances in the front lines of combat without using family constraints or social ties as an excuse. They invest all their energies men and women in service of their expansionist project and building Solomon's Temple at the expense of demolishing Al-Aqsa, as they claim.

Such is the truth, and the resounding scandal: everyone preferred seeking the world and its enjoyments over seeking God and the Hereafter. Thus, the Holy of Holies became the actual benchmark that exposed the falsehood of excuses, the fall of masks, and the collapse of concepts. It is the criterion that separated the truthful from the liar, the fighter from the shirker, and he who seeks the Face of God from he who seeks the transient goods of the world.

These societies have come to live in a state of intellectual and actual sedation alike: from those drowning in opium cultivation, to the consumption of Khat, to the spread of hallucinogens and substance abuse in North Africa and other regions. This drug, in all its forms and manifestations, is nothing but an escape from facing helplessness and cowardice in confronting reality. Production has vanished, industry has ground to a halt, inventions have ceased, and development has withered away, leaving society to devote itself to desires and rushing to conclude one marriage contract after another, fearing the tongues of people and their social glares, fearing the neighbor's look, and wary of a word of truth!

Fear of creation has become greater among them than fear of God and being held accountable by Him

for squandering the Holy of Holies and neglecting its sanctities. Hence, the clear truth emerges, unmasking their faces and hearts: this Holy House has shown the collapse of the social structure, exposed psychological fragility,

uncovered the deep-seated hypocrisy in thoughts and dispositions, and revealed the disgraceful level to which Muslims have descended.
